About

The Full Story

Hello, My name is Kim Forchuk, I am a wife and mother of two. My daughter is here in the physical and my son is on the other side. I live in a rural area with my family on a small piece of land just big enough for us and a few horses.

Duke, Smirnoff and Inky are three of my favorite healers, teachers and friends. These sensitive animals have been an important part of my healing journey through the loss of my teenage son over this past decade. They have naturally held a non-judgmental, safe space for me to work through limiting beliefs and fears. They've also shown me the way to release, relax and let go - so that I may be able to experience incredible growth, healing and realize my full potential.

After experiencing healing with my horses, I was inspired to become certified in Equine Facilitated Wellness (EFW) with the Professional Association of Equine Facilitated Wellness. www.equinefacilitatedwellness.org

For over 20 years, I have been supporting children, adults and families while working in the Human Services field. I've worked as a Support Worker helping adults with special needs, a Parent and Family Coach, and a Family Support Worker.

I have acquired extensive training through workshops and courses regarding mental health, trauma, and suicide awareness.  I am well informed of the developmental theory of attachment, in the context of relationships and it is the foundation of all that I do. I have considerable experience in delivering strength-based programs that are rooted in neuroscience and attachment. I have been certified in various areas of instruction, that facilitate relationships, growth and development of individuals, families and communities.  I have also received the Brain Story Certification from the Alberta Health and Wellness Initiative.  In addition, I have taken Brene' Brown’s Dare to Lead course and earned a certification badge of completion.

Horses have always been an important part of my life and I am fortunate to have them continue to grace me with their presence.  In my Equine Facilitated Wellness program, I bring my love of horses together with my passion for nurturing the human spirt. With my horses as my equine partners, together, we facilitate learning and growth, strengthen relationships (both with oneself and others) and foster healing and resiliency.

I invite you to join myself and my equine partners to experience rejuvenation, growth, and transformation to begin your journey to thrive!
